1. Is your school accredited?

a. Yes, Contractors Intelligence School is Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited.

2. What does journeyman experience mean?

a. A journeyman is defined as an experienced worker in the trade who is fully qualified, as opposed to a trainee, and is able to perform the trade without supervision; or one who has completed an apprenticeship program.

3. Can I get my license if I don’t have a high school diploma?

a. Yes, a high school diploma is not a requirement for becoming a licensed contractor.

4. Can I apply for my license without having a Social Security Number?

a. Yes, the CSLB accepts applicants with an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number).

5. Can someone who is not a licensed contractor sign off for my experience?

a. Yes, as long as the person has witnessed the applicant perform or supervise the trade duties.

6. Can I get a license if I have a felony or misdemeanor?

a. It depends on the situation at hand. Most contractors with a prior conviction will be able to get a contractor’s license assuming the felony or misdemeanor was NOT construction related and a rehabilitation effort was made. The CSLB will take every conviction into consideration on a case-by-case basis. It is important to contact the CSLB at 1-800-321-2752 for further clarification if you are unsure of your particular situation.

7. Is there a chance my application will be denied by the CSLB?

a. Yes, applications that are not complete or provide misinformation can be rejected. The Registrar of Contractors may request the applicant to provide further information regarding the applicant’s work experience or educational requirements in order to satisfy the State’s requirements.


Technical

1. Do I need to create an online account after I sign up for the course?

a. No. Every Home Study or In-Class Preparation course comes with complimentary online access. Your account will be automatically created and a password will be sent to your email upon enrollment.

2. Can I pause any of the Online Practice Tests and finish it at a later date?

a. No. You must complete the test or end the exam if you wish to move to the next exam.

3. When do the 90-days begin for my practice exams?

a. As soon as you enroll with Contractors Intelligence School your online practice exams take effect. Whether you use the practice exams or not the tests will expire after 90-days.

4. What should I do if I’m having trouble logging into my online account using my mobile device?

a. We recommend you update your mobile app to the newest version. Next, try accessing your account via a computer. If all else fails, call one of our agents to get the issue resolved.
