Contractors License Fees

Here is the list of fees that you will incur when applying for your initial contractors license.

Application Fee - $450
Examination Fees
- $51.43 for the Law and Business Exam
- $51.43 for the Trade Exam
  (These fees are paid directly to the CSLB’s approved testing vendor.)
Initial License Fee
- $200 for Sole Ownerships
- $350 for Corporations/Partners/JV/LLC
Live Scan (Fingerprinting) - about $75
Contractor's Bond - Approximately $233/year*
*The $233/year bond rate does not apply to C-39 (Roofing) or C-53 (Swimming Pool) contractors bonds.
